I ordered a new camera for my ADAS system. While waiting for this shipping, I decided to make servo system for steering wheel.
Disassemble Steering
This car is very old like 20 years ago. So I can’t hack can-bus network to control steering.
I found some space under the steering column. It’s enough to put some electronic parts.
Measuring and Copy into CAD
Don’t need enclosure of basement. So just copied structure of steering parts.
Test Desing
Hear is a pretty simple mechanism. I will just use a DC motor and a 10 turn potentiometer. To turn steering, put a GT2 timing pulley and connect all of them by a timing belt.
